HARVESTS 2023 AND HOW THE RAIN IMPACTED MALTING BARLEY

As it rained a lot this year, our farmers didn’t have an easy time harvesting. This had the detrimental effect that a disease developed on the plants and resulted in these plants being smaller. Since we have quality criteria to respect on the maltster’s side, we unfortunately had to reject several batches, even of our own homegrown produces! However, other regions were less affected by the heavy rains and produced good batches. Thank you to all the farmers who grow our basic ingredient!
